USC Losses to Washington

Fans stormed the field after the Huskies upset third ranked USC

As predicted here, (3) USC would go into Seattle and struggle. USC has now lost to an unranked team each of the last four years.

As I stated here, the key to the game would be USC's QB play. And with 110 passing yards yesterday (the lowest in Pete Carroll's tenure at USC) it was obvious that this team has issues at that position. They need a healthy Matt Barkley if they want to contend with Cal (who USC plays in 2 weeks) in the Pac 10.

USC opened with a 10-0 advantage, but was never able to build on their lead. Washington responded to take a 13-10 lead before the Trojans tied the game.

That led to the final scoring drive by Washington that ended with a game-winning field goal.

Jake Locker looked real good, passing for 237 yards. Chris Polk, who had 71 rushing and 22 receiving yards, was instrumental in leading the Huskies into FG range on the final drive.

Congrats to Washington! But remember, the upset was called here first!
