Bringing it back....

Another wonderful season of College Football is amongst us!

It's been 3 years since my last post. I know what you're thinking, how long before he just stops posting this time. Well I'm here to tell you I will be hitting this season with full force.

Since my last post in 2009 a lot has happend to the College Football world. Here are a few things I missed out on:

State of Alabama Proves It's Tops in Football:

We've had 3 National Champs, all from the state of Alabama mind you, and 2 of the 3 (2009 and 2011) being The University of Alabama (the other being Auburn in 2010).

SEC Dominance:

Just touched on this but will extend a little more. I know this is supposed to be since 2009 but this fact is too good to pass up. The SEC has won the past 6 BCS National Championships. 6.Seasons.In.A.Row. Total domination...

2006 - Florida

2007 - LSU

2008 - Florida

2009 - Alabama

2010 - Auburn

2011 - Alabama

Finally Seeing Some Heisman Love:

The 3 Heisman winners since my last post have been: Mark Ingram (2009) Cam Newton (2010) and Robert Griffin III (2011). Ingram being the first Heisman winner from the University of Alabama and Griffin the first from Baylor.

Conference Re-Alignment (here we go again):

This is a pretty lengthy discussion. Seems like at the end of every season there are rumors of a team leaving a conference in favor of another. Well this past season did not disappoint. Since 2010, 32 schools have changed conferences. Out of those 32, 4 schools switched twice! The Big East took a hit (once again) as teams such as West Virginia (leaving for the Big12) TCU (who joined the Big East and left for the Big12 before officialy starting) Pitt (ACC) and Syracuse (ACC). They did gain Boise St and San Diego St, both of whom are NOT on the East Coast, but that's another topic on its own. The Big12 lost Nebraska (Big10) and Colorado (PAC12) Missouri (SEC) and Texas A&M (SEC) .

Instead of explaining all the new conference layouts and future scenarios, here's a list of conferences as of the 2012 season to better explain it: *Schools are listed in no particular order; just by conference

  1. Looks good, man. I really wanted to go to media days this year, mainly to hear from Texas A&M and Mizzou, but the boss was out of town so I didn't get to go. I think A&M will fit into the SEC nicely, but I'm not sure about Mizzou yet. I'm ready to see how everything shapes up on the field.

  2. The whole culture at a&m fits well with the SEC I think mizzou will be ok bball wise but there's a huge difference in the big 12 north and the SEC....I'm just excited we're less than 2 weeks away!
